A tabletop strategy board game of luck, risk, and bidding set on Florida's east coast. Flip map cards to collect gold, manage resources, and invest in luxury cards using 10 characters with different strategic abilities. Double-Sided Board: Flip the main board to change between two distinct gameplay variations. The Boca Raton Setup: An open-strategy layout focused on grid bonuses and two major auctions triggered by waterfront cards. The Palm Beach Setup: An 8-round challenge featuring 1 to 2 luxury auctions at the end of every round, focusing purely on bidding mechanics.
This is Backhans Games The illustration is made by Tilda and it presents me, her, and Alva as Backhans Games. Together we do the work behind creating a game. I enjoy doing the mechanics and tweaking the rules, and the goal is a game that I would like to play with my friends. It is exciting and has a perfect balance of luck and strategy. Not too long. The rules should be easy, yet have complexity and depth. We all love to draw, and it's all drawn by us. Our style is not exactly the same, but we follow design rules to make the game coherent. There are, for example, only certain colors that are allowed on the map cards, so the resulting map is then uniform. The game has been evolving since the first prototype. When we thought the board game was done, we did the digital version of BOCA RATON. In doing this, we discovered new ways to play the game and created new game variations that can now be applied to the board game. It's a constant refinement. I hope you will give our game a chance. As a bonus, my son Erik did the original soundtrack for the digital version of BOCA RATON, and I think it gives a nice ambient backdrop when playing. — Lars Backhans
